The FL51314 was sized around a tray, not around a spec sheet. At 1028 × 570 × 755 mm it matches common battery compartment sizes on 48V electric trucks, so the retrofit is a lift-out and a lift-in rather than a fabrication job.

 

The weight is deliberate too. A counterbalance truck borrows stability from whatever sits behind the mast, and lithium cells are far lighter than the lead-acid mass they replace. This pack arrives at 1,000 kg, with counterweight configured against your truck's requirement, so the machine keeps the residual capacity it was rated for instead of becoming a site safety conversation after delivery.

 

Inside the case are 16.1 kWh of LiFePO4 cells rated above 4,000 cycles, a 300 A discharge path for repeated high-mast lifts, and a BMS reporting over RS485 or CAN to an LED display. If your compartment reads differently, the same cell block gets re-cased. That is the practical difference between buying from a catalogue and buying from a factory.

The case is SPCC cold-rolled steel rated IP54, sealed against the dust and wash-down a working aisle throws at it. Steel does two jobs here that composite cannot: it carries the counterweight structure, and it survives being craned out of a compartment on every service interval.

Protection lives in the BMS rather than in operator discipline. Cell cut-offs sit at 3.65 V on overcharge and 2.5 V on over-discharge, with 500 A peak overcurrent protection, short-circuit protection, a 55 °C thermal cut-off, and a charging lockout below 0 °C. RS485 and CAN push voltage, current and temperature to the LED display and, where the truck offers the interface, into its own control system. Your technician reads state of charge instead of guessing at it.

Distribution centres

Ports and 3PL sites

Round-the-clock operations top up during dock turnarounds and crew changes. Through peak season the fleet runs flat out without the sixteen-hour lead-acid charge and cool cycle parking trucks.

Cold storage and freezer warehouses. Discharge is rated to −20 °C, where the pack holds 85% or more of capacity against the 30 to 50% loss lead-acid takes below freezing. Standard charging runs from 0 °C upward, and optional self-heating opens up charging below zero for food, pharmaceutical and frozen goods sites where trucks never leave the cold.

Give us the compartment dimensions, the connector type and position, the truck make and model, and the shift pattern the fleet runs. Those four inputs decide whether the standard envelope drops in or the pack gets re-cased, and they are enough for a firm quotation.

Beyond the case, capacity, connector, display position, counterweight and communication protocol are all specifiable. Matched lithium chargers ship with the pack, because a lead-acid charge profile will damage lithium cells and we would rather solve that in the quotation than in a warranty claim. Dealers and fleet operators covering several truck models are quoted as one configuration set with a single specification standard behind it.

The FL51314 carries CE marking for European markets, UN38.3 for safe transport and IEC 62619 for industrial secondary lithium batteries, and it is built to UL, CE and IEC safety standards with a flame-retardant metal casing and layered electrical and thermal protection.

Warranty is five years covering manufacturing defects and capacity retention above 80% of rating, against a ten-year design life in normal operation. Certificate copies and test reports go out with the quotation, so buyers whose approval process needs documentation before a purchase order are not left chasing paperwork at the end.

The pack moves under UN3480, Class 9, as lithium-ion batteries shipped on their own. That classification sets documentation, labelling and carrier acceptance, and we confirm it against your destination route before booking. Buyers arranging their own freight receive UN38.3 test summaries and the transport declaration with the shipping documents.

At 1,000 kg a unit, packaging is built for forklift and crane handling rather than manual movement, and pallet configuration is set against the container plan for your order quantity. Crating specification, container loading and destination paperwork are confirmed in writing at order confirmation.

Minimum quantity and lead time are quoted per configuration, because a standard-envelope build and a re-cased custom pack sit on different production paths. Standard envelopes schedule faster than anything needing new tooling or a non-standard counterweight.

For firm figures instead of a range, include truck model, quantity, connector specification and your target delivery window. Pilot units for fleet evaluation are quoted separately from series orders, which is usually the sensible way to start when a fleet is converting from lead-acid.
