83.2V 560Ah Heavy Duty Forklift Lithium Battery | Product Description and Selection Guide
What Problems Does This Battery Solve?
The logistics and warehousing industry has an old problem: lead-acid battery forklifts lose power by afternoon.
Lead-acid battery forklifts struggle to sustain double-shift operations due to long charging and cooling times. Traditional 80V lead-acid packs require 8–10 hours to charge plus 6–8 hours to cool, often necessitating two or three battery packs per forklift.
Battery swapping is heavy, hazardous, and labor-intensive. Each pack can exceed 1,200 kg, requiring specialized equipment and trained personnel. Handling acid introduces safety risks, while battery rooms require ventilation to prevent hydrogen accumulation.
Lead-acid batteries typically last around 1,200 cycles, meaning replacements every 3+ years. Combined with weekly maintenance, equalization charging, and acid management, total labor and operational costs are significant.
Lithium iron phosphate batteries solve these problems from a technical standpoint.

Technical Description
Fast and Flexible Charging
This battery supports 250A charging current, taking approximately 2 hours to charge from 10% to 100%. In actual use, "opportunity charging" is more recommended-topping up during operator lunch breaks and shift changes, 15 to 30 minutes at a time. Lithium iron phosphate batteries have no memory effect, so there's no need to wait until the battery is depleted before charging. Charging as needed actually helps extend lifespan.
Long Cycle Life
Rated for 4,000 cycles under standard test conditions (25 °C, 0.5C charge/discharge rate, 80% depth of discharge), this battery maintains 80% of initial capacity after the stated cycles. Actual service life depends on operational conditions: heavy loads, high-frequency use, elevated temperatures, and deep discharges can shorten lifespan, while maintaining charge between 20–80% extends it.
Theoretical service life at one full cycle per day exceeds 10 years, offering 10 times the lifespan of lead-acid alternatives and reducing replacement frequency and associated costs.
Low-Temperature Performance
Discharge temperature range is –20 °C to 60 °C. In cold storage, internal resistance increases and available capacity decreases. For environments below –10 °C, an optional self-heating module can maintain battery performance. Facilities should confirm activation logic and specifications of the heating system for extended low-temperature use.
Battery Management System (BMS)
The integrated BMS provides comprehensive protection against overcharge, over-discharge, overcurrent, short circuit, and temperature extremes.
Data including cell voltage, state of charge (SOC), and temperature is accessible via CAN or RS485, enabling fleet managers to monitor battery health, identify cells with declining performance, and prevent downtime from unexpected failures.
Operator-facing features include an LED status display and low-battery buzzer, ensuring forklift drivers can monitor remaining charge at all times.
Selection Considerations
Confirm Dimensional Compatibility
This battery measures 830 × 767 × 570 mm and weighs 420 kg. Lithium batteries typically weigh about one-third of equivalent lead-acid batteries. Some forklifts rely on battery weight as part of the rear counterweight. Direct replacement may affect vehicle stability. Confirm with the Polinovel technical support whether additional counterweight blocks are required.
Confirm Charger Compatibility
Lithium batteries require dedicated chargers with specific charging curves. Existing lead-acid chargers cannot be used directly. Confirm whether a compatible charger is included with the battery or needs to be purchased separately to ensure safe and efficient operation.
Confirm After-Sales Coverage
Lithium batteries are technically sophisticated. Issues such as BMS failures or cell consistency degradation require professional technical support. Before purchasing, review the service network, response time, and warranty coverage. Pay attention to whether cell and BMS warranties are calculated separately and what levels of capacity degradation are covered.
